Due to demographic shifts and changes in consumer behavior, a clear trend towards ready-to-use portion packages is apparent in the market. Consumer products of a sensitive consistency are packed for easy handling - the background process, however, is highly complex.
For the production of these portion packs Höfliger engineered a platform that allows a number of strategic line-ups.
In the ultra-high yield range, large-area format plates are transported by means of belts to the work stations. This implies that a large number of products can be produced within a single production step. In a further step of the process the products are separated into single units from the blanks format.
Escorting stations contribute to the continuous motion operation. A further production variant employs free-flowing format trays travelling between the work stations. Servo-scrolls convey the trays with highest precision. The advantage lies in the flexibility, which is provided by the easy changeover capability to process additional product variants.
